Austin CG Construction

Austin CG es un subcontratista de fabricación y montaje de estructura de acero en Austin, Texas. Su cliente no es el dueño de la obra sino el ingeniero, el arquitecto o el contratista general que va a confiarle una parte crítica del edificio, así que el sitio no tenía que vender acero: tenía que demostrar que esa parte va a llegar a tiempo, certificada y sin sorpresas.

Por eso la página no arranca con el catálogo. Después de la portada vienen los seis servicios, y enseguida dos secciones que en otro sitio serían letra chica: seguridad y cumplimiento, con la normativa de OSHA y el historial de accidentes por delante, y un proceso de colaboración de cinco pasos —cotización transparente, planeación conjunta, precisión técnica, comunicación abierta y claridad documental— numerado para que se lea como una promesa concreta y no como un adjetivo.

La paleta salió de las propias fotos de obra: negro y gris de estructura, con el naranja del acero al atardecer como único acento, reservado para los botones y los enlaces. Sobre eso, fotografía de sus trabajos reales en cada sección, que en construcción pesa más que cualquier ilustración.

Es uno de los sitios que diseñé desde cero durante mis prácticas profesionales en Galaxy Technology, prototipado en Figma antes de armarse.

Austin CG is a structural steel fabrication and erection subcontractor in Austin, Texas. Its client is not the building owner but the engineer, architect or general contractor about to hand over a critical part of the building, so the site did not have to sell steel: it had to prove that part will arrive on time, certified and without surprises.

That is why the page does not open with the catalog. After the header come the six services, and right after them two sections that elsewhere would be fine print: safety and compliance, leading with OSHA regulations and the accident record, and a five-step collaboration process — transparent quoting, joint planning, technical accuracy, open communication and document clarity — numbered so it reads as a concrete promise rather than an adjective.

The palette came out of their own job-site photos: structural black and gray, with the orange of steel at sunset as the only accent, reserved for buttons and links. On top of that, photographs of their real work in every section, which in construction carries more weight than any illustration.

It is one of the sites I designed from scratch during my professional practice at Galaxy Technology, prototyped in Figma before it was built.
