Viajes Marcela Rodríguez is an agency in Monterrey that puts together group trips, domestic and international, and handles every client over WhatsApp. The job was not to compete with a flight search engine — it was the opposite, to make it obvious that there is a person on the other side.
Before drawing anything I compared the site against the strongest agencies in Mexico and abroad, to see what they solve well and what they take for granted. Almost all of them hide what the client asks first — when does it leave and what is included — behind a form. Here that is out in the open.
The concept is the Mexican passport. Everything comes from there: the deep green background, the warm paper, the amber on the buttons, the rubber stamps on the cards and the perforated lines of a boarding pass. There is a single typeface, Bricolage Grotesque, and because it is variable the hierarchy is carried by weight and size instead of a second font; sizes come from a 17px scale with a 1.2 ratio, not picked by eye. Uppercase almost disappeared: it survives only on the stamps, because in lowercase they would stop reading as stamps.
The site has four kinds of page and each one answers a different question. Home: where do I go. About: who do I travel with. The trip page: when does it leave and what is included — departure dates listed one by one, each with a button that opens WhatsApp with the date already written, and past dates drop off on their own. Plus the privacy notice, which is mandatory in Mexico as soon as a form asks for personal data.
The packages do not live in the code: Marcela edits them from a panel, and when she adds a trip its page appears by itself. This first phase shipped as a working demo; the project continues in October 2026.
